Take strength fellow traveler! GOD USES BROKEN THINGS!
Perhaps like me you are a feeling a bit broken in body and spirit, and maybe like me you have overheard a conversation about some famous or rich or extremely gifted person that went like this, “Wow! God could really use a person like that.”
Really? Is our Creator Redeemer looking for people who have it all together? Is he looking for the strong and the proud and famous?
Once when I was a speaker at an Oregon Outdoor Women’s event, I shared a room with some extremely adventurous mountain climbers and kayakers and every one of them had a book in their backpack.
These women were some of the most active I had ever met, yet having something to read in their down times was important….
Sometimes things other than what’s really important rob us of the time we need for what’s really important!
Take hope fellow traveler!
Your Creator and Redeemer knows every decision you have ever made and every outcome. He also knows every decision you might have made and every outcome.
Creator Redeemer’s thoughts about you …
Take courage fellow traveler!
A new year is at hand and we stand at the threshold of the unknown. Some of us are trembling with excitement. Others are trembling in fear. We know little of the crushing storms or delightful blessings that lie before us, but we know the ONE who promises to be with us no matter what lies ahead….
LETTIE COWMAN, in her popular devotional Streams in the Desert, tells a story of an eagle who was mortally wounded by a rifle shot.
She says, “With his eyes still gleaming like small circles of light, he slowly turned his head giving one last searching and longing look toward the sky….
Ravi Zacharias tells a story of an older man who asked him when he was young, “Do you know what you are doing now?”
Ravi thought it was some kind of trick question.
“THE GOOD NEWS is that even though we walk through this valley of death, we don’t have to fear, at least not for ourselves!
“Unfortunately, there is no way to skip over the valley altogether, we must face death and the evidence of evil all around us. But there will come a day… And what a day that will be!” ….
Look on the good things Creator Redeemer has accomplished in your life!
“Writing is a spiritual practice…
…a way of letting go of one world and discovering another.”
–Ted Dekker (From interview with Annie F Downs)
